Montenegro On Ice

Laps like milk, with my mind like silt

I underwent the kind of thing you can’t forget

Unbroken, but not unbent

Full eclipse

I was held up, transfixed

I was looking for some kind of sign I can’t ignore

But I found no sign I can’t ignore

Till I peered my way through the pinhole

Seered my eyes, steeled myself for its gaze

I dove below where I found it

Ever drown in just one time and place?

Current strong and I am carried along

I’m barely there

Not wasted, just unaware

If I’m white as snow or light as air

“Gemini” they say, whenever I oversell

That things were ever going well

When we know that things were never going well

Float around in it most of the day
