Pianist David Kaplan specializes in contemporary music and in innovative interpolations of new music into classical compositions. An example of the latter is his New Dances of the League of David, in which newly commissioned works appear between the movements of Robert Schumann's Davidsbündlertänze, Op. 6. Kaplan is also active as a chamber musician and educator. He has made several recordings, including Fluid Dynamics (2024), on which he backed violinist Rachel Lee Priday.
