Singer/songwriter/keyboardist Diane Birch had an itinerant childhood, globetrotting with her traveling-preacher father before returning to the U.S. as a teenager. Spending her teens in Portland, Oregon, she developed her keyboard and songwriting skills, both of which were fed by her omnivorous musical tastes, which encompassed pop, rock, R&B, and more. Birch's 2009 debut album, BIBLE BELT, found the young artist backed by a stellar array of older talent, including the production team behind Joss Stone, and such legendary musicians as Lenny Kaye, George Porter of The Meters, and saxman Lenny Pickett.
