With 98 different K-pop hopefuls all competing for spots in a new boy band, the reality TV series Boys Planet showcased way more talent than could fit into a single group when it aired in 2023. That's why the show instead yielded two acts, with EVNNE comprising seven singers and dancers who just missed the cut for its sibling act ZEROBASEONE. Along with a stylized name that's short for "Evening's Newest Etoiles," EVNNE flaunts an edgier sensibility than ZEROBASEONE. The band also brandishes an explosive energy thanks to the well-honed prowess and undeniable charisma of such members as leader Keita—who's also part of the K-pop act Ciipher—and main dancer Park Han Bin. A vocalist who showed off his rap skills in some of Boys Planet's most thrilling performances, Lee Jeong Hyeon emerged as another driving force on the exhilarating EDM- and hip-hop-influenced tracks that fill 2023's Target: ME and 2024's Un: SEEN, EVNNE's first two EPs.
