Lithium Dawn are an experimental progressive/post-metal band from Providence, Rhode Island, currently based there and in Kensington, Maryland. Their sound is equally influenced by bands from Isis to Porcupine Tree as well as Tool and the Deftones. Initially the solo project of vocalist, lead guitarist, and engineer Ondrej Tvarozek in 2009, he enlisted drummer/keyboardist Matthew Benoit and bassist Jens Marcelius. After three years of learning to play and write together, their full-length debut, Aion, was released though their Bandcamp page in 2012. Aaron Gage (strings) joined the lineup in 2014, adding another textural layer to their sound. They recorded and self-released their sophomore effort, Tearing Back the Veil, Part I: Ascension, in the fall of 2015. ~ Thom Jurek
