Debuting as a Christian metalcore band in 1999, Underoath gradually reshaped their sound on their way to becoming one of the most dynamic groups in hard rock.
â Underoathâs 2004 breakout LP, Theyâre Only Chasing Safety, was nominated for a Rock Album of the Year Dove Award.
â Theyâve been nominated for two Grammy Awards: Best Short Form Music Video, for 2006âs âWriting On the Walls,â and Best Metal Performance, for 2028âs âOn My Teeth.â
â Define the Great Line, their Gold-certified 2006 LP, entered the Billboard 200 at No. 2 and the Top Christian Albums listing at No. 1.
â Vocalist Spencer Chamberlain formed the side-project Sleepwave, releasing Broken Compass, which was included among Rock Soundâs Top 50 Albums of 2014.
â Marking the groupâs sonic shift from metalcore to alternative rock, 2018âs Erase Me featured âOn My Teeth,â which landed on Billboardâs Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart.
