Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was 15, I sang my first solo performance in church. The song was Jaci Velasquez’s "On My Knees." It was the last time my father was able to see me sing before he passed away. From the country roads to the stage, my father inspires me to sing.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Carrie Underwood, Denim & Rhinestones (Deluxe Edition) Evanescence, The Bitter Truth Mariah Carey, Charmbracelet U.S. Version Why only three? Haha. There are so many albums that have influenced my life and musical journey. Here are a few that have been on repeat lately. From country, to gospel, to rock, to soul, music of all genres calls out my name.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “You Are My Sunshine” This song is originally a sad breakup song. I changed it into an optimistic love song. It's so easy to hate, but so hard to love. I wanted my debut to end on a positive note that radiates love and joy.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Due to past health complications, I had intense vocal surgery that almost cost me my voice. I had to relearn how to talk. Although my voice can be inconsistent at times, being able to craft music again is a blessing that I’m forever grateful for.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Each release is like a diary. Every song represents a chapter of myself. Making music has given me an unspoken freedom. I hope my journey in life allows me to tour in New Zealand and record a song with one of my favorite musicians. One can dream...
