A raunchy wrecking ball of charisma and absurdist humor, rapper Sexyy Red serves up blush-inducing bangers that are as NSFW as they are infectious. Born Janae Nierah Wherry in 1998, the St. Louis spitter began getting traction when she reimagined Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles” as an unabashed street rap. In 2023, she took a quantum leap with “Pound Town,” a Tay Keith–produced single that was immortalized for both its obscenity and its anthemic stature. The lyrics made the song a TikTok sensation, and the beat made it a club staple—a theme song for pregaming and a night of dance-floor thrills. Riding the momentum of the hit, she released Hood Hottest Princess, an EP that dropped in June 2023.
