He showcased his knack for quirky, futuristic sounds again when he produced Missy Elliott's Supa Dupa Fly, a critically acclaimed album that garnered praise for its stylish soundscapes and Elliott's dynamic songwriting. From there, Timbaland continued to flourish, suffusing Aaliyah's music with spacey ambience, helping introduce the world to Bubba Sparxxx, and making hits with the likes of Justin Timberlake ("Cry Me a River") and Nelly Furtado ("Promiscuous") as he crystallized his status as a chameleonic producer for the ages.
