Loqiemean translates as 'closed meaning', and the Russian rapper cuts an inscrutable figure. Indebted to classic hip-hop since adolescence, the malevolence of his production and bombastic flow also defers to nu-metal, hardcore, dubstep, and trap; or at least channels the most insidious impulses of these styles. He alternates from EDM production, with gurgling synths interrupted by wrecking balls of bass drops, and more orthodox trap anthem distorted by effectively mangled Auto-Tuned vocals. Meanwhile, “Eyesed” is deranged dubstep that grinds on every hard-hitting EDM motif going.
