Classic Vallenato is based on the symbiotic relationship between emotive vocals, light percussion and accordion, and few mastered this explosive synergy like Los Diablitos. The band was formed by Omar Geles and Miguel Morales in the early '80s, and by 1985, their first hit, "Tú", was a staple of traditional folk dances. Geles' musicianship is especially dynamic; his accordion melodies intertwine with Morales' ardent tenor. The band's long-time line-up called it quits in 2003, but lives on in new incarnations of fiery cumbia rhythms, rippling guitars and heartfelt, soaring vocals.
