Matthew K. Heafy lives and breathes metal 24/7. In addition to co-founding the band Trivium in 1999, the screamer and shredder has amassed many collaborations, solo releases and guest appearances. As Trivium fans know, Heafy enjoys casting a wide sonic net—he’s just as comfortable churning out alt-metal with YouTube guitar hero Jared Dines as he is lending ICE NINE KILLS a hand in the creation of their horror-themed metalcore epic The Silver Scream. Heafy also shifts into beast mode with CHTHONIC, the Taiwanese outfit legendary for their blackened death metal. Believe it or not, this doesn’t even scratch the surface of his talents.
