Working with radical studio effects like reverb, echo, and delay, Tubby used his mixing desk to transform reggae hits into hypnotic bass-heavy grooves, making him one of the first remixers. When reggae went digital in the '80s, Tubby switched up his style, laying down some of dancehall's most infectious riddims.
