America's premier Afrobeat orchestra hail from Brooklyn and are inspired by the legacy of Fela Kuti's Africa 70, the Latin soul of Eddie Palmieri's Harlem River Drive Orchestra, and heavyweight funk. The 11-piece, whose name is Spanish for "bulletproof," formed in 1998, and along with keeping the spirit of Fela alive, many of their members have also played in The Dap-Kings, The Budos Band, and Menahan Street Band.
