JISOO
ME - Single
Album - K-Pop, Music, Pop
Four years after BLACKPINK’s JENNIE made her solo debut with “SOLO,” JISOO, the beloved K-pop quartet’s veteran harmonizer, has become the last member to step out on her own. (IN 2021, LISA and ROSÉ released LALISA and R, respectively.) It was well worth the wait: ME kicks off with “FLOWER,” with its plucky production taking a back seat to JISOO’s romantic vocal runs. “All Eyes on Me,” the bilingual B-side, is retro 2010s-style EDM-pop, the kind of sound BLACKPINK has been celebrated for bringing into the 2020s cultural zeitgeist, expertly tailored to her specific skill set: big ascendent choruses and danceable breakdowns. It's a B-side far more uptempo than the A-side, and an unexpected choice—but surprises are JISOO’s specialty.
