For vintage jazz performer Miss Lou (a.k.a. Lou Peixin), being stuck in time isn’t such a bad thing. With an elegant persona, those signature cat-eye glasses and heart-melting vocals, the intelligent, self-declared Glamour Vintage Songbird (as in the title of her debut EP) dazzles under any spotlight, large or small. Drawing on doo-wop, swing and soul elements with a modern lyrical bent, it is no coincidence that the passionate feminism advocate and entrepreneur has been critically acclaimed since her debut in 2017—even performing for Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
