Sunshine reggae group Iration got its start in 2004 when five Hawaiians living in Santa Barbara came together as a Bob Marley cover band.
∙ From 2007’s No Time for Rest to 2015’s Hotting Up, Iration’s first four albums reached No. 1 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart.
∙ Cage the Elephant guitarist Lincoln Parish coproduced and is featured on three tracks on the group’s 2013 album, Automatic.
∙ In 2019, they achieved a career goal of headlining the 4,500-capacity Santa Barbara Bowl—a venue that’s hosted concerts by Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, and Radiohead.
∙ During the 2020 pandemic, the group launched a live weekly video series, The Uplifter, where they share music, humor, and “some quality good vibes” with fans.
