Involved in the London grime scene from a young age, Ironik (born Michael Laurence) first gained major recognition in the U.K. for “Stay With Me,” a hip-hop/pop fusion that featured a sped-up sample of a Westlife tune. The success of this single led to Ironik’s first studio album, NO POINT IN WASTING TEARS, which hit the British charts in 2008 and prominently featured the Elton John-sampled “Tiny Dancer (Hold Me Close).”
