Emy Bernecoli counts early music among her interests and performances, and wrote a thesis on the Romantic era Paganini's Le Streghe, but her recitals in the 2010s and her first recordings demonstrate her emergence as a specialist in 20th century Italian violin music.
Bernecoli earned her soloist's degree in Brescia in 2006, and a diploma in chamber music in 2010. She also studied Baroque repertoire. For all of that, her 2013 debut solo album on Naxos included works by Giorgio Federico Ghedini. Her next two releases covered the music of Ottorino Respighi, for which she also edited some of the scores. She has edited concertinos by Fiorenzo Carpi and Antonio Puccetti for publication. As a former member of several orchestras, Bernecoli has played a variety symphonic and opera works under several renowned conductors, and she is an accomplished chamber musician.
