Self-described as "cinematic new wave," Gang Signs are an atmospheric electronic trio from Vancouver, British Columbia. Made up of Peter Ricq (vocalist, also of dark-electro act Humans), Matea Sarenac (aka DJ Wobangs; keys/vocals), and Adam Fink (drums/percussion), the project was eventually conceived after each member expressed a desire to work with one another. Their debut self-titled EP was recorded by Ricq in his bedroom during his time off from Humans. The release was commended for its dark, lush textures and crystalline production techniques. Following this, the band began to make waves on the live gig circuit, performing alongside acts such as F****d Up, Tanlines, Yacht, Gold & Youth, and Young Empires. They went on to sign with File Under: Music and put out their first full-length effort, Geist, in 2015. ~ Rob Wacey
