• Before forming Higher Brothers, Melo, Masiwei, and Psy.P were members of local hip-hop collective Chengdu Rap House in the early 2010s.
• In 2015, Masiwei and Psy.P collaborated with DZKnow to issue the viral “Haier Brothers,” a single inspired by the Haier brand fridge in their shared apartment.
• After enlisting Melo, the group officially became the Higher Brothers (originally Haier Brothers). In 2016, they signed to 88rising, an independent label focusing on Asian artists.
