In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Hearing 2Pac for the first time and my Mom rapping every lyric hit me pretty hard. It was the first time I heard rap music. I still judge all rap music by that experience.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Childish Gambino, "Awaken, My Love!" Raekwon, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Tyler, The Creator, IGOR You're gonna get all the musical and melodic vibes from Tyler and Gambino, but With Rae and Ghost, you're gonna get the raw, uncut story telling and wordplay and terminology that you can only get from being from that area and lifestyle.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Summer 2006” This record is special because it sounds exactly like my childhood. It sounds like the feeling I had as a 15-16 year old young man with no stress and endless potential. It was my first reflective record that I ever made.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Hearing my music on the radio has got to be one of the best feelings! Hearing myself for the first time through radio waves gave such validation and pure happiness from the acceptance of my music. This was in 2012.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? As an artist, I would love to visit some of the studios where some of my favorite albums or songs were recorded. I would also love to do an overseas tour. I want my music to be prominent in places like Germany, The UK and Africa.
