In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my first musical experiences was going to a New Edition concert. I was mesmerized by their performance and the energy they got from the crowd. I knew then that I wanted to feel that same energy.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? D'Angelo, Voodoo Maxwell, Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite Prince & The Revolution, Purple Rain Soundtrack from the Motion Picture These three albums helped shape my direction as an artist, writer and performer. From the musicianship, production and even sequencing of songs, each of these albums redefined for me what type of full music experience could be offered in album form.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Don't Wanna Come Down” I chose this song because it was a conscious attempt by me to break down the complexities of production and return to my initial singer/songwriter roots of guitar and vocals. I placed more emphasis on the vibe of the song than the length of the song.
