Delivering sole themes of powered pop style, Mandown adjoins catchy rhythms with sharp lyrics, ultimately discharging plain rock and roll inspired tunes. Constituting in late 1999, in Omaha, Nebraska, Mandown features a four-piece line up, headed by vocalist and guitarist Joel Kassera, later joined by Vince Giambattista (guitar), Dave Backhaus (bass) and Scott Evans (drums). Recording their eponymous debut album, Mandown still in 1999, the Omaha crew then started playing numerous live concerts, gathering a strong following. In 2000, the crew managed to play on the same stage as Incubus, or Stone Temple Pilots during that year's edition of the Rockfest and the Testfest festivals, at its Omaha stages. Following a period filled with numerous live performances, Mandown entered the studio again to record their second album. Shoulders hit the record stores in 2001, before the team entered yet another intense touring season. ~ Mario Mesquita Borges
