Taiwanese rapper, singer/songwriter, and model Mark Tuan broke through as a member of South Korean boy group Got7 before starting a solo career. He caught the attention of JYP Media in 2010 and they asked him to audition; he passed on their offer, dropped out of school, and moved to South Korea. After making some television cameos in 2012 on Dream High 2 and WIN: Who Is Next, he joined Got7 in 2014. He released his first EP with them, Got It?, shortly after joining. He launched a solo career in 2018 with the single "OMW." His debut album, 2022's The Other Side, was released independently through Mark Tuan Studios.
