In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My parents took me and my brother to the record store every Friday night after dinner. I picked my first album in 1984—Run-D.M.C.—and somehow convinced them to also get me Twisted Sister’s “We’re Not Gonna Take It.” I was hooked on music right then.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? A Tribe Called Quest, The Low End Theory Three 6 Mafia, Mystic Stylez Wu-Tang Clan, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) The Low End Theory, 36 Chambers, Mystic Stylez are albums I hold close because I played them constantly growing up—before school, after school, every chance I had. Something in my soul lit up when I heard them. They helped shape who I am musically.

Tell us why you chose this song. “B.O.L.O.” “Bolo” came from a heavy time in my life—it was how I let out all the pain, sadness, and emotion I was carrying. The bounce, swing, and bass kept me going. It’s a warning too: be on the lookout, I’m coming—and Teklife is coming with me.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Getting signed to Teklife was a dream. I discovered their music during a hard time, and the bass and rhythm gave me energy I didn’t know I had. I was already a DJ, but Teklife made me want to produce music that could save someone the way it saved me.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I’m not a bucket list person—I don’t chase clout or ego. I make music from the heart. My connection to Chicago feels like DNA. I want to help people, build a legacy, and stay true to who I am. I’m OG Rubix—100% real. TEKLIFE, even in the next life.
