Born in the Dominican Republic, rap/tropical artist Papi Sanchez made inroads into music at an early age, DJing and working at radio stations before beginning to make his own records. Those gigs helped him hit the ground running at the time of his first release, 2003's Yeah Baby!, which became a surprise hit after the single "Enamorame" skyrocketed all the way to number three on Billboard's Latin Tropical Airplay chart.
