Pop singer Sajjan Adeeb's sophisticated style is informed by Bollywood, folk, and hip-hop. He had his first big hit in 2016 with "Ishqan De Lekhe." He made his film debut in 2019's Laiye Je Yaarian.
Born Sajjan Singh Sittu in Bathinda and later nicknamed Adeeb ("poet") by college friends, Sajjan started singing as a young boy, eventually participating in singing competitions. After attending Punjabi University, his first break in music came when friends uploaded a video of him performing to social media. It generated interest from music labels, and he had his first big hit with the song "Ishqan De Lekhe," released by Times Music/Speed Records in 2016.
He found continued success with songs including 2017's "Aa Chak Challa." It was penned by Bollywood composer Jassi Katyal and lyricist Manwinder Maan. Adeeb first appeared on the big screen in the 2019 Punjabi-language film Laiye Je Yaarian, which featured the song "Darshan Mehnge," his collaboration with singer/songwriter/actor Amrinder Gill. ~ Marcy Donelson
