In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. A golf accident when I was 16 saw me go live with my grandparents, who had Foxtel. This was the first time I saw Scribe's hit 'Dreaming' on MTV. From there, I was hooked. The wordplay and storytelling was something I knew I wanted to do forever.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? 360, Falling and Flying Lil Wayne, Tha Carter III Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, The Heist (Deluxe Edition) All of these albums/artists were pivotal to my earliest feelings toward music. What it invoked in people and what it made me feel possible of achieving. The Heist is hands down number one. That moment was so important to my trajectory as an artist.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “A Man” I wrote this song in 2018 about my little brother James and his journey as a gay man growing up in an environment he never felt safe in. But more importantly, highlighting how far we still had to go to live in a world free of prejudice.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The first time fans ever sung my lyrics was pretty special. It was in 2016 when I was on tour playing my song Poltergeist, they sung every lyric and I was totally in shock. I had the biggest smile on my face and will never forget that moment.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Yes of course. I still need to release a full-length album, tour nationally and play at least one show internationally. I also have so much more left to say and will not stop until I have said everything.
