As Sinoia Caves, Black Mountain's Jeremy Schmidt records exclusively with vintage synthesizers and organs. His spacy, post-psych sound reflects influences from early Popol Vuh to middle-period Tangerine Dream, from Klaus Schulze to Rick Wakeman, Bo Hansson, and composer/director John Carpenter. Sinoia Caves' debut full-length, The Enchanter Persuaded, was released in 2006. In 2010, Schmidt was commissioned by Panos Cosmatos to score his debut feature film, Beyond the Black Rainbow. The picture made the festival circuit and was picked up for distribution and received a theatrical release in the U.S. and Canada. In 2014, Jagjaguwar issued the full soundtrack/score. ~ Thom Jurek
