In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
I remember the first time my mom played me The Notorious B.I.G I fell in love with hip hop.
But When I heard my dad play Jay Z's Black Album and Blueprint I knew I was hooked.
It was love when God put me at that lunch table and I started rapping.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
JAŸ-Z, The Black Album
Nas, Illmatic
The Notorious B.I.G., Life After Death (2014 Remaster)
Life After Death for me was literally the blueprint of what a great album is supposed to sound like from start to finish. The Black Album was a muse of what hip hop needed for innovation at that time.
Illmatic the most cinematic pieces of audio art.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Ok(Thank God)”
This Song has a special place in my heart because of the message Im putting out on it.
I honestly Love God with all my heart because without him there would be no Uptoppapi.
I give all credit to God for the music I create because he gave me my lyrics
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Performing Downtown Newport News watching Old and Young People get out they seats to dance to my music. Letting my grandma listen to a song and seeing her eyes light up. Playing a song for my mom and her not realizing it was me it was amazing.
