We Are the Ocean are a British five-piece influenced by the post-hardcore sounds of Refused, Hot Water Music, and Rise Against. After forming in 2007, they utilized social networking sites to build a loyal following, which resulted in a nomination for Best British Newcomer at the Kerrang Awards before they had even put out a record. In 2008, they released a self-titled EP and toured before recording their debut album, Cutting Our Teeth. It was released in 2010 through Hassle Records.
