Robert Cray emerged in the early '80s as a musical triple threat: A compelling singer with a fresh take on traditional blues, soul and R&B; a songwriter with a contemporary spin on the age-old obsessions of love and desire; and a blues guitar hero earning raves from Eric Clapton and B.B. King. The multiple GRAMMY®-winning artist breakthrough in '86 with the hit album Strong Persuader, which crossed over to the pop charts. The Georgia-born Cray continued to record and tour extensively throughout the following decades, firmly establishing himself as a new blues great.
