Heart-rending power ballads have long been popular in Korean rock, and K-pop band FTISLAND proudly honours that tradition. But their songs of love won and lost mix the drama of conventional ballads with technically skilled rock instrumentation and the occasional rapped interlude. Yet even when they change things up for funk or metal, vocalist Lee Hong Gi's powerful voice and emotional delivery are unmistakeable.
