Although he died at the age of 52, Germán Coppini carved out a distinctive niche for himself in Galician pop. First emerging in the early ‘80s with outrageous punk outfit Siniestro Total, Coppini jumped ship to help found the Vigo-based Golpes Bajos, where his buttery vocals and wry persona proved the perfect complement to Teo Cardalda's wall-to-wall synthesisers and Fania-influenced Latin rock. Coppini's later solo career encompassed the digitally enhanced warped pop, oddball takes on classic American soul and tributes to fellow Spanish pop visionary Antonio Vega.
