With his breezy tunes and languid croon, Don Ho was the world's No. 1 ambassador of aloha. Born in Honolulu in 1930, Ho's Waikiki lounge act attracted the attention of the Sinatra-owned Reprise Records in 1965, who released his debut, The Don Ho Show, just in time to ride the tidal wave of tiki-mania that hit the U.S. following Hawaiian statehood. His charming persona landed him appearances (as himself) on iconic TV shows such as I Dream of Jeannie, as well as his own daytime show in 1976. A dedicated performer, his final concert took place just two days before his passing in 2007.
