Stockholm-born Ida Sand grew has always lived with music. It was part of her upbringing, thanks to her opera singer father, it became her education when she studied music at Gothenburg University, and it’s now her everyday existence, married as she is to the guitarist Ola Gustaffson. Here the couple exemplify their mutual passion in the percussion-loaded duet cover of Neil Young’s “Hey Hey, My My”, while Sand offers a robust, jazz-guitar enabled rendition of “In The Bleak Midwinter”, and also an elegiac, pungently jazz-diva cover of “Mr Pianoman”.
