Born and raised in France, Ishay Ribo has climbed the ranks of Israel's spiritual pop singers through touching—often haunting—ballads, building a secular as well as a religious audience. His vocals rarely surface above a hushed, meditative tone; paired with pensive, acoustic guitar and piano-led arrangements, he creates gorgeously mellow, melodic pop-rock. His third album, 2018's Grey Area, is filled with emotionally stirring and immensely catchy gems.
