Riding the fresh wave of brega funk that spread from the north-east to the rest of Brazil, Tainá Costa took the country by storm. Initially starring in her own dance videos, she quickly took centre stage in music collaborations with trendsetting brega funk producers like Dany Bala. A series of singles since 2018 have also seen her team up with techno brega singer Mateus Carrilho and teen Batidão Romântico sensation Ruanzinho, in a decidedly more starry-eyed performance. Joint releases with the likes of Mc 2K, finally, flirted more openly with the gritty, urban beats of baile funk.
