The Canadian duo Majid Jordan—singer Majid Al Maskati and producer Jordan Ullman—specializes in crafting amorous, accessible songs in the nebulous space between R&B and dance music. They began making music in the early 2010s at the University of Toronto and were discovered by Noah “40” Shebib, the right-hand man and lead producer for hip-hop megastar Drake. For Shebib’s label, Majid and Jordan composed songs that have woven themselves into the fabric of contemporary pop, like Drake’s 2013 hit “Hold On, We’re Going Home,” and “One I Want,” their 2017 collaboration with PARTYNEXTDOOR.
