An audition for Italy’s version of The X Factor set Federico Orecchia—aka Boro Boro—on the path to rap stardom, first via collabs with Andry The Hitmaker and Don Joe before he joined forces with MamboLosco in 2020. The duo’s reggaetón-tinged album Caldo rocketed up the Italian charts, powered by hit singles “Nena” and “Lento”. In his own tracks and elsewhere, the Turin rapper draws on a range of influences—those aforementioned Latin sounds but also his father’s saxophone solos, not to mention the slick rhyme schemes he perfected as part of the ISKIDO GANG collective.
