“‘Tell Me When You’re Home’ was written with Jeremy [Malvin] from Chrome Sparks early last year,” Sycco tells Apple Music about her latest single. “I was in the beginning stages of a crush feeling more serious, so we wrote about that sort of yearning.”

Born Sasha McLeod, the Meanjin-based artist with Torres Strait Islander heritage has just released her warmly immersive second album, Look Up, on which the track features. “Jeremy was showing me a bunch of drunken jams he’d had with friends, and this one part, which is the sample at the beginning, stuck out to me, so I begged for us to work on it,” she says. “It’s actually the artist Blue singing, and a bunch of other talented musicians. I didn’t know her at the time but now I love her music, so that’s pretty cool!”
