No conversation about modern Turkish music would be complete without the Mediterranean dance-pop sizzle of İrem Derici. Since making a name for herself on reality talent show O Ses Türkiye, the Istanbul singer/songwriter has established herself as an expert melder of Turkish sounds new and old. She sews together acoustic guitar motifs, modern dance beats and traditional folk melodies into anthemic singalongs like the enormous 2017 hit "Bazı Aşklar Yarım Kalmalı" and, a year on, "Ben Tek Siz Hepiniz"—the latter a highlight from her second album, Sabıka Kaydı.
