Since the early ‘80s, Goro Matsui has been composing love-centric lyrics for some of Japan's biggest artists, including Shizuka Kido and Chage and Aska. He has an instinct for zeroing in on matters of the heart, whether he's expressing the beauty of slow-burning romance or the pain of inevitable endings.
