Andy C Essentials

Emerging from the UK rave underground during the early ’90s, and scoring an era-defining hit as one half of Origin Unknown with 1993’s “Valley of the Shadows,” Andy C quickly became—and remains—one of the most influential figures in drum ’n’ bass. That’s not only as founder of RAM Records and a pioneer of the double drop mixing technique, but also as an artist in his own right. While minting classics such as “Quest” (with Shimon), “Heartbeat Loud” (with Fiora), and “Ricochet” (feat. Felix Samuel), he’s regularly reset the boundaries for what D’n’B can be while helping drive its rise from a UK rave and jungle offshoot to a global festival staple.
