Liberty University classmates Toby McKeehan, Michael Tait, and Kevin Max may have begun as rappers in 1987, but by 1995, DC Talk transformed into one of Christian alt-rock's most innovative acts of all time. Not only did landmark albums like Jesus Freak and Supernatural spawn a string of general market singles, but they also propelled the trio into arena-touring territory. Though the multiple GRAMMY®– and Dove Award–winning group took a hiatus in 2000, members remain visible in various solo and band projects, occasionally covering a collaborative hit in concert.
