Mogwai formed in '95 in Glasgow, Scotland and became one of the UK's most acclaimed post-rock bands. Their debut, Mogwai Young Team, was indebted to the dynamic post-rock shifts of Slint and the post-punk atmosphere of Joy Division and The Cure. Over eight studio albums, Mogwai also absorbed avant-garde influences, from Sonic Youth, Fugazi, and My Bloody Valentine to Neu! and Talk Talk.
