Autumn Peltier’s Feel-Good Anthems
Playlist - 15 Songs
Autumn Peltier was just 12 years old when she first expressed her discontent to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau about the injustices Canada has committed against Indigenous people and their land. A year later she addressed the UN General Assembly on water protection issues. And shortly after that, the Anishinaabe Indigenous rights advocate was named Chief Water Commissioner for Anishinabek Nation. But, Autumn tells Apple Music, she’s also “a 17-year-old girl who always wants to chill with positive, happy vibes and connect with all sorts of arts and culture.” To commemorate National Indigenous Peoples Day, Autumn assembled a soundtrack of feel-good anthems which runs the gamut with tracks from Indigenous artists such as The Halluci Nation and Prado as well as hip-hop and reggaetón icons like 50 Cent and Bad Bunny. Of The Halluci Nation's “Sisters (feat. Northern Voice),” Autumn says, “I love listening to this with my family. It helps motivate me for my speaking engagements.” And of Nicki Minaj's “Moment 4 Life,” she says, “My mom and I share this as one of our favorite songs. It was the first song that played at a big turning point in her life. The lyrics take us back there. So nice.” Enjoy all of Autumn’s feel-good anthems, and add anything you like to your library.
