Hailing from the low-key Myslowice in southern Poland, Myslovitz found solace in indie rock—and films, themes from which often weave their way into their songs. Works like 1999’s Miłość w czasach popkultury proved that the five-piece could compete with the best of their Britpop, alt-rock and shoegaze peers with a characteristically Silesian flair. The longing lyricism of “Krótka Piosenka O Miłości” is anchored by an earthly, evocative accordion. But the brooding “My” takes listeners even deeper into Myslovitz’s soul, enveloping the listener in a sweet melancholia tinged with aching keys.
