Singer-songwriter Briannah Donolo (born in 1996) made Rêve—“dream” in French—her stage name as a nod to her Montreal roots. It’s also the mood she envisioned for her music: dreamy, liberating, and even utopian dance pop that moves people both physically and emotionally. Songs such as Rêve’s debut single, “Still Dancing” (2021), and her icon-listing “Whitney” (2022) pair her earnest songwriting and knack for hooks with beaming melodies, '90s Eurodance-inspired grooves, and big basslines. But as vulnerable as she can be in her lyrics, she’s also playful. “‎CTRL + ALT + DEL” (2021) was Rêve’s breakout moment, with cheeky lyrics and a catchy horn melody that led to features on the FIFA 22 soundtrack and Canada's Drag Race. In 2023, she released her debut album, Saturn Return.
